St. Francis, Glenbard W. students fight hunger

This week, boys volleyball players at St. Francis and Glenbard West high schools are spiking cans of food into boxes.

They have worked together to organize the second annual Feed The Need food drive.

The food drive, which has been going on all week, ended Wednesday night at the freshman, sophomore, and varsity games between the schools at St. Francis.

In addition to what the players collected at school, fans bringing cans of food to the game were rewarded with a $1 discount on game tickets.

Mike Lynch, boys varsity volleyball coach at St. Francis, said the food items will be distributed between the Peoples' Resource Center in Wheaton and the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.
