Dist. 300 names new principal for Hampshire Elementary named

David Scarpino, associate superintendent of Community Unit District 300, has been named the new principal of Hampshire Elementary School, effective in July.

Scarpino likely was one of three candidates interviewed for the district's top post before board members this week chose Jacobs High School Principal Michael Bregy for the job.

Before coming to District 300, Scarpino served as superintendent in three Wisconsin school districts and as an elementary school principal.

"I look forward to channeling all of my experiences and background into supporting the students of Hampshire Elementary," Scarpino said in a news release.

Current Hampshire Elementary Principal Jim Aalfs is stepping down to return to classroom teaching, according to Superintendent Ken Arndt.
