Sun City Prairie Singers to perform at concert

If you loved the old stories and songs of Route 66, the Sun City Prairie Singers of Huntley will present the ninth annual spring concert, "From Sea to Shining Sea," at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, at Huntley High School, 12015 Mill St.

Numbers include such oldies but goodies as "Georgia on My Mind," "New York New York," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Roxie," "My Kind of Town Chicago Is" and "Chattanooga Choo Choo."

The 100-voice ensemble, supported by a 10-piece Sun City Band, the Sun Tones and One More Time barbershop harmony groups, along with the Prairie Voices ensemble, will take the audience on a spirited journey across the U.S.

Admission is $10, $3 for children, age 2 to 12. Tickets are on sale in the Huntley branches of Castle Bank, Citizens Bank, and Harris Bank, as well as at Prairie and Meadow View Lodges at Sun City during scheduled hours.

Ticket stub holders will be entitled to a 15 percent discount at the Walleye Grill restaurant on the day of the performance. For information, contact Shirley Howland at (224) 569-6491.
