Lacrosse leagues coming to Tri-Cities

River City Lacrosse has teamed up with the Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles park districts to bring the game to beginner and intermediate players. A travel team is available for the elite player.

The development program is open to players of all skill level for first to eighth grade. Players are rostered by the high school they will attend based on their current address. Each season will focus on the basics of the game. River City Lacrosse strives to provide a fun and challenging program that teaches players the skills to compete and excel at the game.

The league will consist of four divisions: Bantam (first and second grade), Lightning (third and fourth grade), Juniors (fifth and sixth grade) and Seniors (seventh and eighth grade). First- through fourth-graders will play Saturdays from 9-10:30 a.m. starting April 17. Fifth- through eighth-graders will be play Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon starting April 10. The league fee is $150. Games will be played at Wheeler Park, off Route 31 in Geneva.

Tryouts will be held Tuesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 25 for travel teams. Every player will receive a custom uniform, and teams will practice twice a week. Travel teams may have additional practices and fees. Games will be held on Saturdays and travel teams may have games on Sundays as well.
