Incumbents who fight people's battles

The Daily Herald made the right choice in endorsing Roger Kotecki (DuPage Forest Preserve District 6) and Mike Formento (District 4). Both men have proven records of voting against wasteful spending while at the same time voting for management practices that improve wildlife diversity and the people's experience of nature when they visit the forest preserves.

In this anti-incumbent era, the voters need to recognize that Kotecki and Formento have been fighting the people's battles all along. They have voted on the side of everyone who pays taxes. They have been the critical votes for management practices that bring beautiful native oak savannas, songbirds, frogs and wildflowers within a few minutes drive of everyone that lives in DuPage. They have earned the Sierra Club's endorsement as well.
