Aurora math, science academy offers Preview Day for prospective students

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy has scheduled an IMSA Preview Day from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31. IMSA Preview Day is an opportunity for students, their parents and teachers to learn more about the academy's academic and residential life programs.

During Preview Day, families will have the chance to meet with current students, their parents, staff and get a firsthand look at IMSA's residential college preparatory program. Several discussion panels and tours of the facilities will be held in the afternoon. Student guests should attend Preview Day with at least one adult. No advance reservations are needed for IMSA Preview Days. Arrive by 10:30 a.m. to take advantage of all offerings of this formal event.

Barbara Miller, IMSA director of enrollment and academic services, encourages guests to attend this popular event that attracts hundreds of parents and prospective students from all corners of the state of Illinois.

"Preview Day guests attend mock classes, learn about student life and residential living, tour the campus and enjoy snacks with Parent Association Council members, alumni and alumni parents," Miller said.

Preview Day also includes a special segment for parents and students interested in IMSA school year, weekend and summer programs for youths in third to 10th grade. During that time, representatives of IMSA's Professional Field Services will help participants to "Get in the Know" about the amazing IMSA math and science programs delivered to students, teachers and schools throughout Illinois and beyond.
