Oak Brook police still searching for 'person of interest' in shooting

Oak Brook police are still trying to track down Jerry L. "Shorty" Hudson, a man they want to question about the Jan. 1 killing of a woman outside of a local hotel.

DuPage County CrimeStoppers also is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution in the slaying of Melissa Bridgewater.

Police stopped short of calling Hudson a suspect and instead refer to the 48-year-old man, whose last known address is in Bolingbrook, as "a person of interest." He is armed and dangerous, police said.

Hudson is the ex-husband of Bridgewater, 45, who according to police, was fatally shot "execution style" about 6:15 a.m. Friday outside of the Doubletree Hotel on Spring Road in Oak Brook.

Hudson's family members have not been cooperative, police said.

Police say Hudson is wanted for questioning in the case and made several threatening statements to Bridgewater shortly before she was killed.

Police have been looking at Bridgewater's cell phone records as part of the investigation.

Police say Hudson is about 5 feet, 9 inches and weighs about 215 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Oak Brook Police Department at (630) 368-8701.
