South Elgin man charged with attempted murder
A South Elgin man is charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of a woman Monday night.
Stanley D. Schrock, 63, of the 100 block of North LaFox Street, is also charged with felony aggravated battery ― discharge of a firearm.
The shooting happened around 11:40 p.m., according to South Elgin police. The woman was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center, for treatment.
Police say it was a domestic violence incident and there is no threat to the public.
A Kane County judge ordered Schrock be detained pretrial. Schrock’s next court date is March 4.
