    A 32-year-old South Elgin man accused of growing marijuana on his property got into more trouble last week when he refused to acknowledge a judge and scuffled with court security officers. Scott T. Hochstetter is now charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer and contempt of court. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

    A 35-year-old South Elgin woman was sentenced to 30 months of probation after admitting Friday to possession of blank prescription forms, a felony. Suzanne E. Rostek was one of three arrested in October 2013 in a scheme to illegally obtain prescription drugs. The cases against the other two people are pending.

Authorities said the two were charged with multiple counts of burglary, aggravated battery of a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

    • Someone broke a window on a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria on the 38W400 block of McDonald Road near South Elgin between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, according to a sheriff’s report. Damage was estimated at $300.

    Someone tried to break into a storage garage on the 1300 block of Mitchell Road near Aurora between 10 p.m. July 8 and 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to a sheriff’s report. About $1,000 damage was caused to the garage’s door.
