The Libertyville senior replaced Haraden in the fourth inning of the first game of a doubleheader and threw 11 scoreless innings to help the Wildcats to a sweep of the Rockets, 10-9 and 3-0, at Rocket Hill.

That tied the game at 1-1 and the Vikes still had a runner on second base.

Visiting Crystal Lake Central rallied for 5 runs in the seventh and 1 in the eighth for a come-from-behind 7-6 win in Fox Valley Conference crossover action in Huntley on Friday afternoon.

    A thunderous home run from South Elgin’s Alyssa Buddle’s woke up St. Charles North on Friday. The North Stars scored 11 runs and had 12 hits in 2 innings after falling behind 1-0 to defeat the Storm 11-1 in six innings. “That kind of fueled us,” St. Charles North’s Sabrina Rabin said. “I definitely think that was one of the motivators.” Buddle hit an 0-2 pitch from Rabin over the scoreboard in left-center to lead off the bottom of the fourth to give South Elgin (4-3, 1-2) the lead.
