29" -- NO WEB Side Street Studio Arts in Elgin, in partnership with two Nashville.-based artists, is seeking visual and performing artists for their second annual art swap featuring Tennessee and Illinois-based artists. This collaboration will allow artists' work to travel and reach audiences in two different arts markets, creating money-making and networking opportunities for artists, and will start to bridge the distance between working artists in the U.S. Deadline to submit is Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Renz Addiction Counseling Center has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. To further strengthen the campaign locally, the Grand Victoria Foundation announced they will match all electronic individual donations to Renz Center made on #GivingTuesday's Dec. 1.

The Peace Light from Bethlehem will arrive in Hampshire around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. All churches and individuals are invited to come and take the flame back to their own homes and churches. You must bring your own lantern and a bucket to carry it in. Meet at Zion United Methodist Church.

The third annual Rustic Decorative Arts Exhibition will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, to Sunday, Nov. 29, at Grace Farm Studios in Woodstock. Blue Eagle Pottery in Woodstock, Grace Farm Studios, and Ohana Farms in Marengo will show recent works in clay, mixed media 2-D, fiber, and locally harvested wood, flora, and fauna.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, downtown Elburn will feel like Christmas with Santa, hot chocolate, s'mores, and a spectacular holiday light show during the 21st annual Elburn Christmas Stroll! Brian Larsen, designer of the Larsen Light Show, will put on a light show featuring a 12-foot tree, 10 mini trees, a talking Santa, and an FM transmitter which will play Christmas music that synchronizes with the lights. To honor the Stroll's new mascot, a 7-foot inflatable penguin has been added to the light show this year!

Explore the "French Connection" with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra on Nov. 21-22 in Elgin. Violinist Isabella Lippi will perform two French pieces, Chausson's "Poèm" and Berlioz's "Rêverie et Caprice." For both of these pieces, she will perform in the style of a French impressionist. Layers of passionate and beautiful sound will transform the Hemmens into a panoramic view of the French countryside.
