A Hanover Park teen has been sentenced to probation and time served in jail for making a false bomb threat at Lake Park High School’s east campus in Roselle. Sharell Thomas, 19, of the 7500 block of Bristol Lane, pleaded guilty Friday to felony disorderly conduct.

A Wood Dale letter to the editor: Normally I don’t comment on political cartoons as many are the fantasies of those out of touch with reality. However, the cartoon in the June 12 Daily Herald crossed a line. It not so subtly indicated that the GOP was racist, sexist and homophobic (to use liberal terminology).

Outdoor Pool in Community Park to Remain closed for Summer 2013Jun 13, 2013 12:00 AM
The Addison Park District has been diligently working to open the outdoor pool in Community Park; however damage to the pool structure and underground piping is extensive. The pool was severely damaged as a result of heavy rains in April. As the repair process has progressed, issues with the pool’s drain pipes were discovered. The repair process for the underground drainage system will take the remainder of the summer to complete. Sadly, the Addison Park District will be unable to open the outdoor pool for the 2013 season.
