Wauconda's baseball team got its first win of the season Tuesday, and Ben Peterson made sure of it. The senior righty allowed only 4 hits, struck out eight and walked three. “He pitched very well,” Wauconda coach Bill Sliker said. “He threw strikes, attacked the zone, and didn't fall behind a lot of hitters. That's why his pitch count wasn't up too high.” Wauconda (1-5) received 2 hits apiece from Collin Shrader, Joey Lovelle and Joey Schaer. Carmel 3, Glenbrook South 0: Illinois-bound Quinten Sefcik dominated on the mound, striking out 15 and allowing just 3 hits in a complete-game performance. He walked only one.
