He achieved both in the 400-meter run, edging teammate Nick Rafacz while setting a personal record at 49.33 seconds. Neuqua Valley did win either way, both in the Valley Division and among all 14 UEC teams. In the first year of a post-Lake Park UEC, the Wildcats earned a total of 131 points, a fair cushion over Waubonsie Valley’s 109 and River Division winner Batavia’s 103.

  • Controlling out of control games no easy task for any coach May 14, 2014 8:26 PM
What’s a coach to do? Your team is ahead of the opponent, say, 12-0 after two innings. Some will say tough, that’s the way it is, and do nothing except let the game play out. Others will have runners leave early, or bunt back to the pitcher, or have their hitters intentionally swing at bad pitches — anything to get it over quicker and not embarrass the other team.
