    Former Republican state lawmaker and Palatine Township supervisor David Regner died Tuesday. Regner was 82 and battling a rare form of skin cancer. After losing two wives to cancer, Regner in 2011 donated more than $100,000 to Northwest Community Hospital to help pay for renovations to make waiting rooms more welcoming.

The former state representative died Friday at 65.

  • No injuries in Palatine restaurant blaze Sep 9, 2013 11:50 AM
    No one was injured in an early morning grease fire at an Arby's Restaurant in Palatine, authorities said. Palatine Fire Deputy Chief Bill Gabrenya said a neighboring business of the Arby's on 100 block of Northwest Highway saw smoke inside the building at 5 a.m. Monday morning.
