A 22-year-old Maine Township woman accused of kicking and biting Cook County Sheriff's deputies has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, authorities said Monday. Jenelle Barton, of the 8900 block of Robin Drive, was intoxicated about 5:45 a.m. Sunday when she entered a stranger's home on the 8800 block of Robin Drive near Des Plaines, the Cook County Sheriff's office said in a news release.

The visiting Warriors (4-7-1) shrugged off a slow start and stormed into the lead with consecutive goals from Alice Faraone. Maine West used another by Alexia Prosperi at the half-hour to put away its crosstown rival for good.

Cook County Sheriff's Police have arrested a 22-year-old man and charged him with burglarizing three of his neighbors' homes in Maine Township, officials said Tuesday. Davon Miller, who is also known as Lorenzo Miller and lives in the 9900 block of Linda Lane, admitted his involvement during questioning, sheriff's police said.

All incoming Maine Township High School District 207 freshman and sophomore students must purchase Google Chromebooks as part of a new program that will eventually eliminate the need for physical textbooks. "Instead of filling their backpacks with expensive, heavy, print textbooks, freshman and sophomore students will instead purchase a lightweight Chromebook computer along with electronic books for select courses," District 207 Superintendent Ken Wallace said.

An 81-year-old Des Plaines area man reported missing Tuesday has returned home safely to his family, Cook County Sheriff's police announced this morning. The sheriff's office had earlier in the day issued a call for the public's help in locating William L. Robinson, who had been last seen Tuesday afternoon driving away from his Maine Township residence on a trip to a local grocery store.
