Glenbard West's boys basketball team dominated the fourth quarter while rallying to Saturday's 64-52 West Suburban Silver victory over Hinsdale Central in Glen Ellyn.

Freshman Maddie Diab won all four events and the all-around with a 38.45 to once again break her school record. Rosch, seniors Sarah DeStefano and Amber Broucek, junior Alison Oakes also earned top-five individual medals.

Walsh, St. Viator ready to go in victory over Hinsdale Central

On a snowy, blustery Saturday afternoon, St. Viator outlasted visiting Hinsdale Central 48-45 in a nonconference boys basketball game. Senior forward Danny Walsh picked the right day to put on one of his better performances, finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

Metea Valley's Ervin takes 195-pound Berman title

After an off-season which included a long heart-to-heart with coach Claudio Torres and a 13-hour car ride on the way to the Super 32's on the East coast, Dylan Ervin felt the wheels were put in motion for what he hopes to be a highly successful wrestling campaign in his final season at Metea Valley. Ervin lifted his third championship trophy of the year, this one coming at the 61st Berman Holiday Classic at Palatine, after a strong effort during his 7-4 victory over Cole Bateman from Carl Sandburg in the 195-pound final on Wednesday.
Hinsdale Central rolls over St. Charles East

So far it has been an up and down season for the Hinsdale Central girls basketball team. Saturday's fifth-place consolation game against St. Charles East at Wheaton North's Bill Neibch Falcon Classic could easily have been another downer considering it was just a day after Christmas and there is a long break in the schedule coming up. Instead everything came together perfectly for the Red Devils in a 72-44 win.
DuPage County teams ready to fight for a midseason trophy

Get ready for a busy holiday season of boys basketball in DuPage County. Between the tournaments at York, Glenbard West, IC Catholic Prep/Westmont and the debut event at Hinsdale Central, 64 teams will be competing for trophies of all shapes and sizes.
