Seventeen people have filed to run as write-in candidates in Kane County for the April 9 consolidated elections. Two more people have joined the Batavia 7th Ward race as write-in candidates, and another person has joined the Geneva Township clerk race.

Early-morning storm knocks out electricity, downs trees Jul 24, 2012 12:00 AM
A storm that rolled through the Tri-Cities area Tuesday morning left areas of Geneva and Batavia without power and several downed trees. An approximate five-square mile area in the southeast section of Batavia had its power knocked out by the storm that came through around 6 a.m., Batavia Public Works Director Gary Holm said.
