  Patrons at the St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia libraries now have a new way to reserve and renew library items: Using their phones. The LINC consortium, which contains nine suburban library systems, including those from the Tri-Cities, has launched a service that allows patrons to manage their accounts via text messages on their phones.

  Kevin Burns has found himself counter-punching in the early weeks of his campaign for Kane County Board chairman. But now he's got a new left hook in the form of Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady. Burns had touted Brady as a supporter during his campaign announcement speech.
