    With the Timothy Christian bats behind him, pitcher Cole Miller had his day. The sophomore threw his first no-hitter to rout the Fenton Bison 10-0. It was the Trojans’ third straight Metro Suburban Conference baseball victory.

    As the state series approaches, the Stevenson boys gymnastics team wanted to put together a strong showing Wednesday night at the Independent Conference meet in Libertyville. And the Patriots did just that as they recaptured the conference title from long-time rival Mundelein. Stevenson scored 154.2 to Mundelein’s 148.95.

  • Man gets 53 months in attempted kidnapping of Fenton student Apr 21, 2014 5:02 PM
    A Chicago man who grabbed and chased a 16-year-old girl as she walked to Fenton High School last April pleaded guilty and received a 53-month prison sentence. Mario Booker, 25, was sentenced after pleading guilty to aggravated battery in a public place.

     
  • DuPage Leadership Team members volunteer at homeless shelter Apr 20, 2014 9:51 PM
    Members of the Daily Herald's Leadership Team for DuPage County spent their Easter Sunday evening helping out at a Public Action to Deliver Shelter site in Naperville. The team members, all of them high-school students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteerism and community service, set up beds for the homeless people who would spend the night at the shelter and prepared three meals' worth of food.

    The Stevenson boys gymnastics team showed that it’s an elite squad Friday night at the Bob Bohl Invitational in Mundelein. The Patriots rolled to the championship of the powerful 17-team field with a season-high 158.15 points as they toppled the host Mustangs, who delivered their season high of 152.95.

    Victories won’t come easy for Glenbard South’s baseball team, but the Raiders are going to win. They won for the fifth time in six games this season with Tuesday’s 4-3 nine-inning Metro Suburban Conference victory over Fenton at Bensenville’s Redmond Park.

Sophomore Brittany Paganucci scored only 30 seconds into the game, and it was a sign of things to come in the Rams’ 9-0 victory in Lombard.

    lThe West Chicago boys volleyball team narrowly picked up its fourth victory of the season with a win over the Fenton Bison in three sets. After taking the first set with a 27-25 win, the Wildcats dropped the second 27-25 but came from behind to take the third 25-22.

Almost like the 34 seasons for Elk Grove softball coach Ken Grams, who was playing the host Bison in Bensenville as the Grens won 18-2 in six inning, giving the coach career victory no. 800.
