    In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, the College of Lake County Center for International Education will screen the film “Girl Rising” on Tuesday, March 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Room C005 (C Wing Auditorium) following a reception from 6-6:30 p.m. outside the auditorium. A second showing will be held on Wednesday, March 5 from 12 to 2 p.m. in Room C002.

    83-year-old Chuck McCann of Round Lake Beach can't explain it, but painting seems to be the one thing that isn't affected by his Parkinson's disease. The retired teacher has published books, shown his work in art shows and even been a professional bowler. “When I go to paint, I seem to relax completely,” McCann said.
