No verdict yet in Trump lawsuit May 22, 2013 12:00 AM
The lawyer for an 87-year-old woman who accuses Donald Trump of cheating her in a skyscraper condo deal told jurors in Chicago on Wednesday that he was personally repulsed because he felt the "Apprentice" star conned his client and lied about it on the witness stand. Jurors withdrew to begin deliberations later Wednesday but went home after 90 minutes without reaching a verdict. They were to resume Thursday morning.

Protesters storm meeting on Chicago school closures May 22, 2013 12:00 AM
Protesters of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to close dozens of city schools have been removed from a school board meeting in Chicago and from the state Capitol in Springfield. The Chicago Board of Education was discussing the issue Wednesday and planned to vote. About a dozen protesters were taken away from the meeting by security and Chicago police. Some linked arms and began singing, refusing to leave.

Chicago officials say more than $1.5 billion in water, road and transit projects will be completed coming months, as part of the city’s Building a New Chicago infrastructure program. Among the investments are upgraded security cameras at all Chicago Transit Authority elevated train stations, 35 miles of new bike lanes, completion of the Wells Street Bridge over the Chicago River and the installation of new water mains and sewers.

Chicago Zoological Society officials say three Brookfield Zoo bottlenose dolphins are pregnant. Officials said Monday that 26-year-old Allie, 31-year-old Tapeko and 10-year-old Spree are due to give birth this summer and fall. Allie has had two previous calves and Tapeko, three. But first-time mother Spree will require extra care as her pregnancy will have greater risks, as with other mammals.

Getting to work on the Chicago Transit Authority's Red Line is going to be a lot different for the next five months. Monday is the first weekday of the $425 million project to rebuild the Red Line on the city's South Side and that means no trains are running along the 10.2-mile stretch between Cermak-Chinatown and 95th street. To help riders get where they need to go, the CTA will offer free shuttle bus service, expanded bus service and discounted rides on buses in some areas.

The protesters were delivering petitions with thousands of signatures opposing Chicago Public Schools planned closings. They then blocked elevator access at city hall and chanted against Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
