Youth Junior Golf League at Apple Orchard begins June 12 May 14, 2013 12:00 AM
A nine-week Junior Golf League begins June 12th and runs through Aug. 7, for ages 9-15. The league focuses on the development of lifelong golf skills with an emphasis on enjoyment, sportsmanship and golf etiquette. Participants must have had some previous golf experience such as lessons or other golf activities, but do not need to be highly skilled.

Bartlett girl remembered as talented, popular Apr 24, 2013 12:00 AM
Jillian Zaguirre, a sixth grader at Centennial Elementary School in Bartlett, died Saturday following complications caused by the flu. She is remembered by friends and family as a popular, talented girl who loved school and performing. Her death is one of four flu-related deaths in young people across the state this season, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Bartlett Idol registration now open Feb 1, 2013 12:00 AM
Registration for the Bartlett Park District's 'Bartlett Idol' is now open. The all-ages singing competition will take place on Saturday, March 16. There is a new "group" division this year, along with seven age divisions for solo singers.

The Bartlett Park District is hosting a theater costume sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, in program rooms 3 and 4 at the Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road. Winkie costumes from the Wizard of Oz, items from Dear Edwina Jr., pink Marilyn Monroe-style dresses from Guys and Dolls, new dance recital costumes for children and more will be available. Most items are under $10.
