    Anyone who spent time with former Batavia boys basketball coach Jim Roberts knew exactly how the Hall of Famer would end a conversation after one of the Bulldogs’ games. “Drive safe.” Those words came to mind last week following the tragic car accident that took the life of Jarred Harrell, the 21-year-old brother of Aurora Christian senior Jonathan Harrell.

    A 24-year-old Aurora woman remained hospitalized in critical condition Sunday with injuries suffered two days earlier in a crash that claimed the life of her brother. Janella Harrell was injured and Jarred X. Harrell, 21, also of Aurora, killed in the head-on collision that occurred about 6:34 p.m. on Route 30 near Fifth Street in Oswego. The siblings were driving home from nearby Plano, where they had just watched a younger brother play for Aurora Christian High School’s basketball team in a holiday tournament.

The Eagles ended their skid Friday night at home against Aurora Central Catholic. Zach Singer scored a career-high 21 points and Johnathan Harrell added 15 in a 65-50 Suburban Christian Blue victory.
