Enjoy poolside movies, concerts in the park with Geneva Park District

Geneva Park District will offer a variety of programs this summer for the family, including poolside movies and concert in the park. For more information, call (630) 232-4542 or visit genevaparks.org.

• Join them under the stars for free "Movies in the Park" this summer. See "The Emoji Movie" on Thursday, July 5, on the big screen at Wheeler Park. Movies begin at dusk, or approximately 8:30 p.m. Don't forget a blanket or lawn chair. Concessions will be available for purchase. Don't miss "Justice League" on Thursday, Aug. 2, at Island Park.

• The Concert in the Park will feature June's Got the Cash at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at River Park, 101 N. River Lane. They offer a musical tribute to American country music icons Johnny Cash and June Carter. All shows are scripted with classic country comedy bits, historical stories, vintage costumes and songs performed from Cash's hit collection of music from the 1950s, '60s, '70s, 80s and more.

• The "Flick 'n Float" will feature the movie "Coco" at dusk, approximately 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Sunset Pool, 710 Western Ave., Geneva. As the sun sets at Sunset Pool, grab a floatie or an inner tube and enjoy a cool poolside screening of "Coco"! Twilight admission rates apply. Don't miss "Wonder Woman" on Aug. 3.

• "Concert in the Park" will feature Mr. Myers at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at River Park, 101 N. River Lane, Geneva. Mr. Myers blends the sounds of calypso and ska, the rhythms of reggae, and a touch of rock 'n' roll with some favorite tunes to create their own special style of music- Caribbean Rock. Featuring wailing sax, searing rock guitar, colorful steel drums, powerful percussion and strong vocals, Mr. Myers succeeds at playing its blend of Caribbean Rock to enthusiastic mainstream audiences everywhere.

• Concert in the Park will feature The StingRays at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at River Park, 101 N. River Lane, Geneva. The StingRays play the greatest music ever written with the energy, passion, and authenticity of the artists they love. Go back a few decades and enjoy the Rock n' Roll classics of the 1950s, '60s, '70s.

• Teen Night - Movie Night will be 8 to 10:15 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Mill Creek Pool, 39W125 S. Mill Creek Drive, Geneva. Sixth- through eighth-graders take over the pool for an evening of fun and food. Watch Jumanji under the stars and eat free pizza with your friends. Cost is $5 for residents and $6 for nonresidents, per person.

• The "Concert in the Park" will feature The Ethan Bell Band at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at River Park, 101 N. River Lane, Geneva. With their skillful instrumentals, creative cover mashups, and new songs that blur the line between country, pop, and hip-hop, The Ethan Bell Band has been humbly compared to their influencers - Zac Brown Band and Florida Georgia Line. Their first single, "Party Bus", is gaining buzz as the band tirelessly promotes their release at local radio and internet stations. Their first EP will drop next year.

New for 2018, each concert in the park will feature food for sale from Deane's Market & Deli and Graham's Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream. Don't miss the beer tent featuring beer from Penrose Brewing Company.
