Local N.Y.A.N. Robotics advancing to world championship

Based out of a basement in Mundelein, Not Your Average Nerds Robotics has now advanced to the World Championship to be held later this month in Detroit, Michigan.

At the FIRST Tech Challenge North Super-Regional competition in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, they were ranked first of 72 teams at the end of the qualifying rounds and were the only undefeated team at the competition.

They also came away with the coveted Control Award, meaning that they had exemplary code and sensory functions incorporated into their robot.

Over this year they have achieved some pretty impressive feats, including placing first in the state of Illinois, beating out almost 200 others for the title.

They are dedicated to spreading STEM throughout their community and hope to make a difference at the coming World Championship.
