Hanover Township spring tutoring program set to begin

January marks the halfway point in the school year - is your child struggling in a class or overall academically? Could your child use some more self-confidence in learning? If so, the Hanover Township Tutoring Services Program is the solution.

Township tutors are certified teachers that assist students in specific subject matters. Tutors use current teaching methods and specialize in assisting students with academic comprehension, mastery of skills, and homework completion.

Small group tutoring groups are developed based on age, subject matter and learning needs that are identified by referring teachers.

There is a charge of $45 per semester, per child. Tutoring session slots fill quickly and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children who attend regularly and bring their school materials/assignments to each session improve in academic performance and become more self-confident.

Students must live in Hanover Township and must currently be in grades two through 12. Out-of-township residents can call (630) 483-5799 for information.

Parents/guardians for second- through eighth-grade students must remain in the building during their child's tutoring session.

For a tutoring application, visit www.hanover-township.org and go to Youth and Family Services under the Department tab. The tutoring program starts Tuesday, Feb. 13, and is offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Streamwood High School Sabre Center, 701 W. Schaumburg Road, Door #31, in Streamwood.

For questions about the tutoring program, call (630) 483-5799 or visit www.hanover-township.org.
