Veterans, military and dependents invited to Oct. 12 job fair in North Chicago

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. - Dozens of employers are scheduled to be at a job fair Oct. 12 in North Chicago co-sponsored by the Lovell Federal Health Care Center's Vocational Rehabilitation Unit and Naval Station Great Lakes Fleet and Family Support Center's Transition Assistance and Family Readiness Programs.

The job fair will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Great Lakes Community Center in Forrestal Village housing. It is open to active duty military members, veterans, military retirees, Reservists, eligible family members and Department of Defense employees.

More than 80 job and resource vendors from throughout area will take part in the job fair. Representatives will accept applications and speak with potential employees. Vendors include a wide range of government and commercial businesses of all sizes hiring at all levels, in hundreds of career fields. Some employers will interview candidates on-the-spot.

WHEN: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 12

WHERE: Great Lakes Community Center, Forrestal Village, 2007 Virginia Ave., North Chicago, Ill.

HOW: Job-seekers must have military or family member identification cards or IDs from the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs. Proof of honorable discharge (DD-214) also is accepted. No children please. Dress in professional attire or uniforms.
