Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival

Events take place in downtown Highwood, with a preview night Thursday, Oct. 5, and the festival Friday through Sunday, Oct. 6-8.

Thursday

5-10 p.m. Community Appreciation Night, with pumpkin carving, live music, cash bar and more

Friday

4 p.m. Festival opens

4-6 p.m. Trick-or-Treating throughout festival grounds

5-9 p.m. Unlimited Carnival Ride Special, $25 per person

7:45 p.m. Make-A-Wish Family Presentation on Main Stage and wall lighting

10 p.m. Festival close

Saturday

9 a.m. Superhero 5K Run/Walk

11 a.m. Festival opens

11:45 a.m. Coverage of live college football in Tito's Lounge

Noon to 5 p.m. Free hot cocoa in front of the info booth

1-4 p.m. Unlimited Carnival Ride Special, $25 per person

1-4 p.m. Phone App Scavenger Hunt, games start on the hour

1 p.m. Meet and greet with HGTV's Alison Victoria

2 p.m. HGTV Magazine's "Monster Mash-Up"

2 p.m. Fastest Carver Competition in front of city hall

3 p.m. HGTV Magazine's "Come Home to Creepy Crawlies"

4 p.m. Meet and Greet with HGTV's Alison Victoria

4 p.m. Pie Eating Contest

4:30-6 p.m. Meet and greet with DJ Cara Carriveau from WSHE 100.3 at the Muller Auto Group Booth

5 p.m. HGTV Magazine's "Batty & Boo-tiful"

7:30 p.m. Ballon Night; grab a light-up ballon from the Muller Auto Group Booth

8 p.m. Make-A-Wish Family Presentation on Main Stage and wall lighting

11 a.m. Festival opens

11:45 a.m. Coverage of live NFL football in Tito's Lounge

Noon to 4 p.m. Unlimited Carnival Ride Special, $25 per person

Noon to 6 p.m. Meet and greet with Pinkie Pie from "My Little Pony: The Movie" at the info booth

1 p.m. Pet Costume Contest

2 p.m. Kids Costume Contest
