Fluid Gyrotonic exercise concept shown to significantly improve golf game

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (SEPTEMBER, 2017) - GYROTONIC® training has been shown to improve athletic performance in many different sports. Golfers, especially, are discovering promising results with the decade old method of exercise. SPYRL Chicago, located at 1781 Green Bay Road in Highland Park, is inviting golfers of all skill level to experience the benefits and see how the Gyrotonic method can increase golf skills.

"SPYRL has helped many athletes achieve the 'perfect swing' by creating balance and movement efficiency through stimulating the nervous system, increasing flexibility and agility, mobilizing the spine, and strengthening the core, as well as easing chronic pain that may be setting golfers back," said Amy Pena, SPYRL's senior instructor, studio director and trainer.

Gyrotonic consists of a series of fluid movements in order to provide increased range of motion throughout the entire body as opposed to the linear movements of other exercises. This is especially important in the game of golf where in order to develop a flawless swing, golfers need a combination of flexibility, strength, and speed, all of which are improved by practicing the three-dimensional movements of the Gyrotonic method.

David Rasmussen, founder of Rasmussen Golf and one of the original PGA Tour instructors in the 1980s, has been traveling around the world teaching Gyrotonic workshops for golfers for more than 15 years. He and his wife Jeanie own a golf and Gyrotonic studio in New Berlin, Wisconsin, where they teach and train all levels of golfers and have seen significant improvement in their performance.

"Although my students have had great successes over the years, I wanted to find a better way to train them and my research and experience has brought me to the realization that the Gyrotonic methodology is the perfect compliment for golf," said Rasmussen. "Gyrotonic works the entire body, and each movement involved in a golf swing. This system helps increase and strengthen hip and shoulder turns, improves cardiovascular fitness and makes the whole body more open and flexible."

Golfers can bring their golf game to the next level by practicing Gyrotonic and will see improvements in their swing, striking ability, trajectory control, drive distance, and directional control while limiting potential injury.

In addition to Gyrotonic sessions, SPYRL Chicago is also offering 6-week Gyrokinesis classes on Tuesdays from August 29 to October 3 at 9:30-10:25 a.m.; Wednesdays from August 30 to October 4 at 6:30-7:25 p.m., Fridays from September 1 to October 6 at 10-10:55 a.m. Call 847-348-0822 or email info@SPYRLChicago.com for more information.
