Astonishing Falcon Recovery shared by Author & Illustrator

RIVERWOODS, IL - On August 13, from 1-3pm, Brushwood Center will host a book signing and talk with the author and the illustrator of the recent publication, "The Peregrine Returns: The Art and Architecture of Urban Raptor Recovery". A recent Brushwood exhibitor, Field Museum's Artist-in-Residence, Peggy Macnamara, will join co-author and Field Museum ornithologist, Dr. Mary Hennen to examine the scientific research on the peregrine falcons' recovery from near extinction. Not just facts and numbers, The Peregrine Returns is personal, telling the experiences that Hennen and her team had while working on peregrine conservation. Topping off the book are Macnamara's unmistakable and beautiful watercolor paintings that bring the stories and science to bright life.

To enrich the discussion, Dr. Ben Golubuff, Professor of English at Lake Forest College and head of Brushwood's nature and wellbeing book club, Ryerson Reads, will mediate the book talk. Books will be available for sale and signing at this event. To register for The Peregrine Returns with Peggy Macnamara on August 13, 2017, visit BrushwoodCenter.org or call (224) 633-2424. Get your copy of the book early at Brushwood Center or the Book Bin in Northbrook.
