Mayor Rodney Craig celebrates with Ronald McDonald at Ground Break Ceremony at McDonald's

On Thursday, June 1, Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig, Ronald McDonald and GM/VP of McDonald's Jim Carras celebrated the ground breaking ceremony of the McDonald's at 7455 Barrington Road, Hanover Park, with golden shovels.

The ceremony gathered village staff, McDonald's corporate staff, and many suppliers/vendors that are assisting with the successful remodel of this location.

Johnny O'Keefe, owner/operator of McDonald's, is proud to celebrate the commencement of this major remodel project to bring Hanover Park the best McDonald's dining experience. The O'Keefe Family has owned this location since January, 2016, others since 1998, and are excited to bring more amenities to the community. The new PlayPlace addition will be the largest in the area with a playground for over 70 children. Two sparkle tables will be installed as community gathering tables for larger families or for groups to interact with. The tables sport LED lighting as a game that kids are sure to love. For the toddler area, the plan is to offer musical instruments such as a piano and guitar game that will keep the little ones coming back for more.

The O'Keefe Family is very active in each community in which they operate; Villa Park, Schaumburg, Melrose Park, Elk Grove Village, Elmhurst, Northlake. From McTeacher Nights, to School Career Day events and school restaurant tours, the Hanover Park McDonald's at 7455 Barrington Road-at Irving Park Road-in front of Menards, is being built as a child and family destination for years to come.

Other renovations include large additions for an improved experience in the drive through and in the dining room. The drive through will have double drive lanes for speedy service, and a larger cashier's booth. This drive through will have three windows for even faster service. New equipment is being installed to improve the quality from the coffee, to the toasters and kitchen equipment and much more.

One of the most exciting additions coming to this location is the Experience of the Future. This includes ordering kiosks in the dining room, digital menuboards in the drive through, and table service. Mobile ordering and payment and curbside pickup will also be available. UberEATS is available now.

The project is scheduled to complete by end of Summer, 2017. O'Keefe thanks patrons for their patience during the major remodel. His goal is to remain open to serve his loyal guests and keep his staff employed. He looks forward to a Grand Reopening to celebrate with the Hanover Park Community.
