Got an idea for a project to help St. Charles kids? The city wants to hear it

The St. Charles Youth Commission is accepting funding requests for projects that support St. Charles youth.

Each year, the youth commission sets aside money from its annual operating budget to support projects and initiatives that positively impact the youth in our community.

Projects driven by and designed by youth have a high potential for success and are an important investment in the positive development of our youth.

Any organization or group can apply for funding by completing the Funding Request Application, as long as the project either benefits or involves St. Charles youth.

Examples of recent project that won Youth Commission grant support include:

• Girl Scout Troop which helped install a handicap swing at Pottawatomie Park;

• Class at Richmond Elementary School that created three "Little Free Libraries";

• Share and Care Club project at Wredling Middle School which provided neck pillows for a local breast cancer treatment center and gift bags for women residents at Rosewood Care Center.

Funding request forms are available at most school locations, the City of St. Charles Municipal Building and on the website at www.stcharlesil.gov.
