After days of speculation, the Cubs made it official Friday: left-handed reliever John Grabow, a midseason acquisition from the Pittsburgh Pirates, is sticking around a while longer after agreeing to a two-year contract believed to be in the $7.5 million range.

The Aaron Heilman experiment ended after one year, while the John Grabow experience seems destined to continue for another couple of seasons at Wrigley Field as the Cubs did a little shuffling of the bullpen Thursday

Some teams lost money in 2009, baseball commissioner Bud Selig said Thursday after the final owners meeting of the year. "There was no question about that," Selig said. "I don't think the concerns have been ameliorated at all.

The Chicago Cubs announced their 35-game spring training schedule for the 2010 season. The club will play 15 home games at HoHoKam Park, 18 road games in Arizona (including a pair of games at Chase Field to close the exhibition schedule) and two games in Las Vegas against the White Sox.
