Girls soccer: St. Charles East downs South Elgin

The St. Charles East girls soccer team downed South Elgin 2-1 in Upstate Eight crossover play Thursday.

The Saints concluded the regular season at 11-5-6 overall as Ashley DiOrio and Rose Stackhouse tallied goals while Emma Blakenship and Kayla Villa each dished assists.

Cary-Grove 6, Libertyville 0: The Trojans (10-2-2) ended their regular season on a good note with a nonconference win. Jenna Stayart guided C-G with 2 goals and 1 assist while Kate Larry had 1 goal and 2 assists. Kelli Ives (1 assist), Summer Curtis and Jordan Dale each had a goal while Maggie Mason and Kelly Stayart had 1 assist each. Goalkeepers Sydney Schmidt and Lauren Passaglia each provided 3 saves for a combined shutout.

Elgin 0, Oswego East 0: Although the Maroons didn't grab a win in this nonconference tie, goalie Joana Mercado provided Elgin a shutout with 6 saves. The Maroons finished the regular season at 10-7-2 overall.
