Girls soccer: Geneva rallies to defeat WW South

Jenna Dominguez scored both goals for the Geneva girls soccer team, who came from behind to grab a 2-1 nonconference win over Wheaton Warrenville South on Thursday.

Sydney Gratz and Stephanie Howe had 1 assist each for the Vikings (10-5-1) while goalie Katie Montgomery made 6 saves.

St. Charles North 1, Larkin 0: In a makeup of a game originally slated for April 5, this Upstate Eight River game ironically lasted just 8 minutes due to the rain. Chloe Netzel did score in the third minute that resulted in a North Stars (16-0-1, 5-0-0) win, as both coaches agreed to count the game despite the conditions.

Kaneland 2, Yorkville 2: Down 2-0 at the half, the Knights (11-2-2, 3-1-2), fresh off a big win over Sycamore, rallied for 2 goals in the second half to salvage a Northern Illinois Big XII East tie.

Rachel Franck and Abby Taylor (1 assist) scored goals, with Taylor's goal coming in the final 5 minutes.

Jacobs 3, McHenry 0: The Golden Eagles (9-5-2, 3-4) received goals from Maddie Belo, Baylee Vincent and Kelsey Medina in a Fox Valley Conference win over the Warriors. Cassie Kowalski had 1 assist.

CL South 1, Huntley 0: Abby Wiegand's first half free kick gave the Gators (10-5, 6-1) a FVC win over the Red Raiders (7-7-1, 2-5). In the shutout, keeper Marissa Fetters made 4 saves. Huntley goalie Jenna Franklin tallied 2 saves.

South Elgin 1, Dundee-Crown 0: Despite 6 saves from keeper Diana Santillan, the Chargers (7-10) were unable to come away with a nonconference win against the Storm.
