Baseball: Kaneland's Dudzinski spins no-hitter vs. Sycamore

Robbie Dudzinski tossed a seven inning no-hitter Monday as Kaneland downed Sycamore 2-0 in a Northern Illinois Big XII East baseball game.

Dudzinski struck out six and walked two in his gem.

Luke Gomes had 2 hits with a double for the Knights (13-3, 6-1) while Nik Panico had a double and an RBI.

Elgin 12, West Chicago 0: Kyle Coates fired a 1-hitter with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks and added a double and an RBI from the plate for Elgin (4-14, 2-9) in its Upstate Eight win. Tim Mitchell (3 hits, 2 RBI), Jack Sitter (2 hits, 2 RBI), Matthew Turner (2 hits, 2B, RBI) and Cameron Jackson (2 hits, 2B, HR, 4 RBI) led the Maroons' offense.

Batavia 17, Larkin 1: Jared Martin had 3 hits with 2 doubles and Quinn Urwiler hit a grand slam home run to lead Batavia (12-7, 9-5) to an Upstate Eight River win. Also producing for the Bulldogs were Carter Gette (2 hits, 2 RBI), Cole Nelson (2 hits, 2B), Justin Pelley (2 hits, 3B, 2 RBI), Michael Niemiec (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Dylan Schick (3B, 3 RBI) and Jack Trzyna (2B). Steven Wilson went 5 innings for the win, allowing 3 hits with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks. Cy Kerber had 2 hits with a double for Larkin (7-11, 4-9) and Gunnar Boley added a double.

St. Charles North 18, Streamwood 3: Winning pitcher Steve Hamer (3 IP, 1 hit, 4 Ks, 1 BB) had 2 hits with a home run and 4 RBI for the North Stars (13-2, 8-1) in their UEC River win. Also contributing for SCN were Patrick Bellock (2B, 2 RBI), Ryan Piontek (2 hits, 2 RBI), Sean Nemetz (2 hits, RBI) and Nick DeMarco (3 hits, 2B, 4 RBI). Michael Pawilkowski had a home run and 2 RBI for Streamwood (8-8, 4-7).

West Aurora 19, Glenbard East 0: Winning pitcher Dustin Tomas (5 hits, 3 Ks, 0 BBS) had 4 hits with 2 doubles and 4 RBI for the Blackhawks (12-6, 5-4) in their UEC Valley win. Cam Zimmerman added 2 hits and 2 RBI for West while Jaycob Noe had a home run and 3 RBI, JJ Rivera 2 hits with a double and an RBI, Johnny Acevedo 2 hits and 2 RBI and Paulo Marouvilla a double and an RBI.

Geneva 22, East Aurora 2: Ian Hanson had 3 hits with a double, triple and 2 RBI for Geneva (11-6, 8-4) in a UEC win. Also coming through for the Vikings were Nathan Dewey (2B, 2 RBI), Dominic Guido (2 RBI), Sean Baumgartner (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Tyler Venditti (2 hits, 2 RBI), Jackson Chase (2B, 3 RBI), Josh Rose (HR), Max Cannon (2B, RBI), Luke Fisher (2B, RBI), Jordan Perez (2B, RBI) and Graham Radabaugh (2B, RBI). Andrew Bernas was the winning pitcher.

Huntley 7, Hampshire 2: Hunter Rumachik (2 hits, 2B, RBI) and Davis Pasco (2 hits, RBI) backed a 5-hitter with no earned runs, 5 hits, 4 strikeouts and no walks from Kyle Morgan as Huntley (16-4, 8-3) won in the Fox Valley Conference. Matthew Jachec had 2 hits with a double for Hampshire (9-12, 2-8).

CL Central 5, CL South 4: Steve Siavelis had a double and Patrick Fischer 2 RBI for Crystal Lake South (5-8, 3-6) in its FVC loss.

McHenry 18, Dundee-Crown 5: Nick Gregory (2 hits), Erik Hedmark (2 hits, RBI) and Ray Gestrich (HR, 2 RBI) led Dundee-Crown (4-15, 2-10) in a FVC loss.

Richmond-Burton 12, Burlington Central 7: Zach Schutta had 2 doubles and an RBI and Peter Cieslica added 3 hits with a double and an RBI for BC (12-7, 9-1) in the Kishwaukee River. Ryan Knowlton (2 hits, RBI), Mick Matijevic (2 hits, RBI) and Jake Mellinger (2 hits) also produced for Central.

Loyola 17, Marmion 15: In the Chicago Catholic League Marmion (5-8, 1-4) was led by Jake Carlson (4 hits, 2B, grand slam HR, 5 RBI), Jack Molenhouse (3 hits, HR), Chase Stanke (2B, RBI), Nick Talarico (2 hits, 2 RBI)), Brandon McPherson (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI) and Bryce Burton (2 hits, HR, 2 RBI).

St. Edward 13, Elgin Academy 12: Ben Boydston (2 hits, RBI), Mike Lopez (3 hits, 2 RBI), Matthew Schimbke (2 hits, HR), Jake Middleton (2 hits) and Jacob Lesh (2 RBI) led St. Edward (7-19) to a nonconference win. Christian Rodriguez had 2 hits with an RBI for Elgin Academy (13-4) while Jonathan Cruz added 2 hits and an RBI, CJ Carani 3 doubles and 4 RBI and Jordan Hare a double and an RBI.
