Girls soccer: New Trier shuts out Libertyville

Goalie Kendall Edwards had 5 saves for Libertyville, but the Wildcats came up short against New Trier 2-0 in a nonconference girls soccer matchup Monday.

"I was impressed with our organization defensively, as we did a nice job of limiting the number of decent opportunities New Trier had tonight," Libertyville coach Shannon Etnyre said. "I'm pleased with how our girls responded, as we had some solid transitions throughout the game."

Wauconda 3, Lakes 0:

Rachel DeNovo had 2 goals for Wauconda.

Meanwhile, Jill Rejczyk had 9 saves for Wauconda, which improves to 10-1 on the season.

Molly Bakrins had 10 saves for Lakes.

Lakes is now 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the Northern Lake County Conference.

Carmel 5, Joliet Catholic 0: Carmel got the shutout win in East Suburban Catholic Conference play.
