Baseball: Neuqua Valley, Glenbard East, Addison Trail win

Neuqua Valley 10, Metea Valley 0:

James Kulak pitched a 1-hitter with 11 strikeouts and a walk as the Wildcats (10-0, 5-0 DuPage Valley) scored double-digit runs for the seventh time. Evan Ranneklev went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and 3 RBI. Jake Wenz and Nick Taylor added 2 hits apiece.

Glenbard East 2, West Aurora 1:

The Rams (9-4, 1-0) won in the Upstate Eight Valley espite only 2 hits, including one by complete-game winning pitcher Taylor Westerhoff, who struck out five and allowed 4 hits.

Addison Trail 2, Willowbrook 0:

Winning pitcher Trevor Fulmer struck out nine, walked one and scattered 7 hits in 6 innings of shutout ball. Bryan Hidalgo-Ortiz struck out two in the seventh to nail down the save for the Blazers (6-5, 3-2) in the West Suburban Gold win. Sam Tumilty and Sam Pelsor had 2 hits for Willowbrook (6-6, 2-3).

Lisle 4, Coal City 1:

The Lions (8-5, 3-0 Interstate Eight) scored all their runs in the first two innings in support of winning pitcher A.J. Casmer, who struck out nine in 6⅔ innings. Zack Heidenry had 2 RBI and Damien Guerrero went 2-for-4.

Wheaton Academy 8, Fenton 3:

Mike Cortez doubled and drove in 3 runs for the Warriors (4-6, 2-1) in their Metro Suburban Conference win. Max Martin was the winning pitcher.

Wheaton North 8, WW South 4:

The Falcons (8-3, 4-0) broke out to a 7-0 lead after three innings to claim a three-game sweep in the DuPage Valley Conference. Winning pitcher Jackson Gray went 2-for-3 while Sam Hacker drove in 2 runs. Kendall Simpson went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI for WW South (4-6, 2-4).

Lake Park 9, Waubonsie Valley 0:

The Lancers (7-3, 4-1) swept in the DuPage Valley Conference behind 6 shutout innings from A.J. Dallmann. Mike Kukula drove in 3 runs and Paul Beverly added 2 RBI.

Benet 4, Marian Central 2:

The Redwings (5-5, 1-0) rallied in the East Suburban Catholic by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dolan Glasgow and Andrew Prisby each drove in a run. Quinn Moriarty struck out nine in 6 innings to earn the win. Anthony Adams got the save with a scoreless seventh.

Downers North 6, Hinsdale Central 4:

The Trojans (4-7, 4-2) trailed 4-2 after three innings but came back to win the West Suburban Silver matchup. Ben Johnson drove in 3 runs. Jake Young was the winning pitcher with 4 innings of scoreless relief. Ayden Head went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI for Hinsdale Central (5-5, 1-4).

Downers South 6, Lyons Twp. 5:

Jordon Knoch gave the Mustangs (7-3) a walk-off victory in the bottom of the 10th inning with an RBI double scoring Nick Stacey. Jack Blazevich went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Andrew Alfini won in relief.
