Softball: Huntley splits at Barrington

Huntley's softball team went 1-1 Saturday at the Barrington quad, beating Elk Grove 12-2 and losing to Barrington 4-3.

In the win over Elk Grove, Tiffany Giese pitched 4 innings and allowed just 2 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks.

Grace Kutz led the Red Raiders' offense with 2 home runs and 3 RBI, Sofia Tenuta had 2 hits with a home run and 3 RBI while Paige Berkmeyer also hit a 2-run homer. Giese added 2 hits with a double.

Against Barrington, the Raiders (7-1) had a 3-2 lead going to the bottom of the seventh but Barrington won the game on a walk off double by Tori Meyer.

Autumn Kasal had 2 hits with a home run and 2 RBI for Huntley. Teagan O'Rilley added a homer and Giese had 2 hits.

Briana Bower suffered the loss in the circle for the Red Raiders.
