Girls track: Top efforts from Oleksak, Marasco

Palatine's Erin Oleksak and Schuamburg's Madison Marasco were top performers in the Illinois Prep Top Times girls track and field meet in Bloomington on Saturday.

Oleksak cleared 5 feet, 5 inches in the high jump to win that event against Class 3A competition.

Marasco ran to victory in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:11.44 to better the meet record set by Jacobs' Lauren VanVlierbergen in 2014. Marasco's clocking was slightly faster than her winning effort in the Mid-Suburban League indoor invitational the previous weekend.

Buffalo Grove's Nya Carr took second place in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 7.59.

Other top-three finishers included the Schaumburg 3,200 relay (second) and the Prospect 3,200 relay (third), and Maine West's Alisa Fallon in the shot put (third).
