Buffalo Grove's boys water polo team is alone atop the Mid-Suburban East after earning a 15-4 win against Prospect on Monday.

Both teams were 2-0 in MSL East play entering the game.

Kevin Carr paced the Bison (9-1, 3-0) with 4 goals and Carlos Salgado had 3.

Dan Macina led Prospect (5-2, 2-1) with 3 scores.

Hersey 17, Elk Grove 6: A 9-goal eruption in the host Huskies told the tale in MSL East play.

R.J. Quinn led Hersey (6-1, 2-1) with 4 goals, and Jack Casey and Nick Koutris had 3 apiece.

Nick Rosenorn paced the Grenadiers (3-8, 1-2) with 3 goals.

Schaumburg 13, Palatine 5: The Saxons blitzed the Pirates with 9 goals in the first quarter in winning an MSL West matchup in their own pool.

Junior Ryan Gustafson paced Schaumburg (5-4, 2-1) with 5 goals and Matt Soltau had 3.

Senior Jerome Gabriel and sophomore Sam Adame had 2 goals apiece for Palatine (2-6, 1-2).

Conant 10, Fremd 1: Aaron Nagorzanski came up with 13 saves to help the host Cougars (3-3, 2-1) shut down Fremd (2-6, 1-2) in MSL West action.
