Boys swimming: Hersey takes Andersen Classic

Hersey's boys swimming and diving team completed a winning week by taking the top team finish in the eight-team invititational it hosted Saturday at Prospect, the Don Andersen Classic.

Huskies junior Nick Nocita won diving with a 441.00 score, just of Conant's Kyle Jones (398.35) and Caleb Savoy (387.60).

Hersey senior Michael Petro won both the 200-yard IM and 100 fly and took a leg on the winning 200 medley relay with Spencer Burkhalter, Josh Irvine and Gavin Hill (1:41.59).

Hersey finished with 506 points, ahead of the second-place Dist. 300 Jacobs/Hampshire team (483) and Conant (433).

Dist. 300 had victories in both freestyle relays. The winning 400 relay was Reid Coyle, Eric Boysen, Elijah Stuart and Harold Ogaban, which finished in a pool-record 3:21.39, and in the 200 it was Alexander Le, Coyle, Caden Waddell and Nathan Herrera (1:34.10).

Individually, Jacobs/Hampshire got wins from Ogaban in the 100 back (55.18) and 200 free (1:49.55) and Le in the 100 breast (1:04.11).

Schaumburg senior Matt Soltau had the top finish in both the 50 free (22.58) and 100 free (49.22).

Conant's top swimming finishes came from Dylan Pokorny in the 100 breast (second, 1:06.47) and from Justin Lim in the 100 fly (second, 53.76).
