Girls volleyball: Grayslake Central perseveres, tops Mundelein in 3 sets
Cassidy Beshel slammed 15 kills and served 2 aces, Lauren LaBeck dished out 32 assists and posted 2 blocks, and Grayslake Central's girls volleyball team outlasted visiting Mundelein 27-25, 18-25, 25-13 in nonconference action Tuesday night.
Elisa Koshy added 7 kills and 2 blocks for the Rams (21-11). Taylor Hindman and Kate Bullman had 6 and 4 kills, respectively.
Mundelein (9-15) received 5 kills apiece from Thea Vogt and Taylor Heath. Alexis Naddy contributed 4 kills and 3 aces, Faith Krabbe was 34-of-34 setting with 12 assists, and Diana Orozco racked up 20 digs.
Grayslake North d. Waukegan: Jessica Pozezinski had 6 kills, and Sarah Rauch and Alyssa Gerzel added five apiece, as the Knights won 25-21, 16-25, 25-18 in nonconference action.
Grayslake North also got 5 assists from Lindsey Deip, 8 assists from Abby Cunningham, 17 digs from Erin McBriarty and 9 digs from Lexie Baker.
Wauconda d. Elgin: Nicole Carazas delivered 5 aces and 5 kills, and the Bulldogs won 25-21, 25-14 in nonconference action.
Wauconda (17-14) also got significant contributions from Riley Aldrich (5 kills), Summer Olsen (3 aces, 9 assists), Savannah Johnson (2 aces, 8 assists) and Jane Sakowicz (13 digs, 3 kills).
