Girls volleyball: St. Charles North earns UEC River title outright

Abby Graham had 4 kills and 2 aces and Amanda Parker 8 assists Thursday night as St. Charles North's girls volleyball team defeated Elgin 25-11, 25-21 to claim the Upstate Eight Conference River Division title outright.

Also contributing for the North Stars (19-3, 6-0) were Annie Wolfe with 3 kills, Megan Clark and Olivia Bambach with 2 kills each and Megan Dawrant and Lauren Caprini with 6 digs each.

South Elgin d. Glenbard East: Hayley Fisher had 8 kills, Angie Negron 7 kills and Casie Swanson 11 assists to lead South Elgin (18-7, 4-1) to a 25-12, 25-22 Upstate Eight Valley win. Kendall Richardson added 7 assists and 5 digs for the Storm.

Huntley d. Cary-Grove: Taylor Jakubowski had 20 digs and 27 assists while Julia Johnson added 10 kills as Huntley (13-4, 11-1) won 17-25, 25-18, 25-17 in the Fox Valley Conference. Aleah Ameilo added 7 kills for the Red Raiders and Sarah Zayas had 12 digs.

Prairie Ridge d. Dundee-Crown: Zoe Sitarz (15 digs) and Irene Martin (5 kills, 5 digs) led Dundee-Crown (4-14, 1-12) in a 25-11, 25-18 FVC loss.
