Girls volleyball: Hersey goes to 6-0 in the MSL East

Hersey d. Wheeling: Hersey's girls volleyball team maintained its grip on first place in the Mid-Suburban East with a 25-22, 26-24 over visiting Wheeling on Thursday night.

Kati Kaburov (10 kills), Amy Morgan (7 kills) and Alessia Olhava (6 kills) led the attack for the Huskies (15-4, 6-0). Olhava (13 assists) and Emma Strozewski (11 assists) set the offense.

Kamila Staniszewski (5 kills), Jessica Jankowski (5 kills) led Wheeling (12-11, 1-4) at Hersey (14-4, 6-0)

Barrington d. Palatine: Visiting Barrington (13-8, 5-2) was led by on attack by Andi Capel (10 kills, 6 points, 6 digs), Paige Ramel (6 kills, 2 blocks) and Bailey Madrzyk (3 ills, 1 ace) in the MSL West win over Palatine (12-8, 2-4).

Prospect d. Elk Grove: Grace Cacini and Meghan Meredith each had 5 kills while Emma Cogan and Colleen Palczynski had 3 apiece to lead host Prospect (6-13, 4-2) to a 25-16, 25-15 MSL win.

Sarah Skaggs (9 assists), Gianna Russo (6) and Valerie Thomas (2) set the attack.

Elk Grove (2-18, 0-5) was led by Rachel Kandefer (7 kills, 3 blocks).

Rolling Meadows d. Buffalo Grove: Natalie Anderson (10 kills) Eleanor Errico (10 kills), Natalie Klancnik (9 kills) and Elise Kowalski (6) led host Rolling Meadows (12-13, 4-2) to the MSL East win.

BG (9-7, 3-3) was led on attack by Claire Ferriss (13 kills) and Nicole Langer (7 kills).

Conant d. Hoffman Estates: Visiting Conant (6-14, 2-5) earned a 25-17, 25-16 MSL West win as Kristina Loznjakovic had 9 kills and 7 assists for the Cougars. Yuri Hara added 7 kills and Fiona Fennelly had 12 assists.

Kathleen Gueco had 2 kills and l4 assists for Hoffman Estates (0-11, 0-6)
