Boys soccer: Holmes gets Lakes a home win

Brett Holmes scored the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute, and Lakes' boys soccer team edged visiting Harvard 3-2 in a nonconference match Wednesday.

Jeff Milostan scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season and also assisted on Holmes' tally. Charlie Gaida picked up the assist on Milostan's first goal.

Goalie Danny Wieczorek made 7 saves, as the Eagles improved to 8-4.

Carmel 3, Grayslake North 1: The Corsairs captured the nonconference match.

Grayslake North (6-8) got its lone goal from Ronaldo Rojas, who was assisted by Nick Kloczkowski.
