Boys soccer: Wittenbrink, Libertyville roll by Stevenson

Ryan Wittenbrink notched his fourth hat trick of the season and second in as many matches, as host Libertyville cruised past Stevenson 5-0 in North Suburban Conference boys soccer action Tuesday.

Wittenbrink, who has 16 goals this season, also had an assist.

Libertyville (8-0-1) did all of its scoring in the first half. Evan Rasmussen added a goal and an assist, and Brandon Murphy also scored. Greg Krikorian and Will Powers contributed assists, and keeper Thomas Pearson made 4 saves in notching the shutout.

Round Lake 4, Antioch 2: Tony Fonseca scored off an assist from Ricky Orozco with three minutes left to break a 2-2 tie and lift the visiting Panthers to the Northern Lake County win.

Maqiis Haywood finished the scoring for Round Lake by knocking ion a free kick. Jesus Ramos and Hector Tellez scored first-half goals for the Panthers. Orozco finished with 2 assists, and Haywood earned an assist as well.

Krystian Nikolov scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season for Antioch (5-5-2, 1-2). R.J. Vazquez added an assist for the Sequoits.

Lake Zurich 1, Lake Forest 0: Joe Heffernan scored the only goal, converting a penalty kick in the 60th minute, as the Bears improved to 7-5 and 2-2 in the North Suburban.

Lake Zurich keeper Connor Trebac had 5 saves and earned the shutout. Lake Forest got 5 saves from John Walsh.

Grant 2, North Chicago 0: Andrew Berwanger had a goal and an assist for the host Bulldogs in the Northern Lake County match.

Danny Talavera also scored, Samuel Lee added an assist, and keeper Oscar Delgado stopped six shots in earning the shutout.

Wauconda 2, Grayslake North 1: The host Bulldogs needed nine rounds of penalty kicks to prevail in the Northern Lake County match.

Grayslake North (6-7, 1-3) got a goal in regulation time from junior Luca Angelillo. Knights keeper Noel Gonzalez made 5 saves.
