Boys soccer: Dundee-Crown topples Crystal Lake South in OT

The Dundee-Crown boys soccer team survived the Swamp Tuesday and stayed undefeated (10-0-2) when it scored on a scramble in front of the net for a 2-1 OT win at CL South.

The Chargers went to 2-0 in Fox Valley Conference play thanks to Julian Ajroja and the late heroics of Roland Dearborn, who scored the game-winner in the 94th minute. Nathan Stone and Kevin Juanchi each provided assists for D-C while Damian Smiech posted 3 saves in net. The Gators (6-6-1, 0-2) gave a valiant effort, led by Tommy Ciezadlo's goal while Oscar Campos had 1 assist.

St. Edward 4, Guerin 0: It is 14-0 and counting for the Green Wave as AJ Franklin's 2 goals led the way in Metro Suburban Red action. Chase Brieger and Zach Olenek each tallied 1 goal and 1 assist that helped St. Edward go to 3-0 in the MSC Red. Josh Johansen dished 2 assists and goalie Eva Sajtar nailed down a shutout with 4 saves.

Jacobs 4, Hampshire 0: Colin Walsh had 2 goals and 2 assists for the Golden Eagles (8-4, 2-0) in a big FVC win. Noah Melick dished 1 assist and 1 goal while Dan Buirge also scored a goal. Austin Snobel provided 1 assist and Preston Kral preserved his shutout in goal with 4 saves.

Burlington Central 6, Richmond-Burton 0: It was a grand "Schramme" of sorts on Rocket Hill, as brothers Luke and Jack downed the opposing Rockets in a dominant Kishwaukee River win. Jack totaled 4 goals while Luke provided 2 goals and 1 assist. Jimmy Badillo, Emanuel Valdvia, Ryan Wilmington, Jett Brandes and CJ Heinz each added assists while keepers Ryan Parson and Richard Appoh combined for a 4-save shutout.

Huntley 4, Marian Central 1: The Red Raiders (5-8) scored all their goals in the first half by Raul Valladares, Luke Loprieno, Rory Hicks and Adam Kaster. Valladares also registered 2 assists while Sal Arnieri and Kyle Owens each had 1. Andrew Fulcer made 5 saves in 62 minutes of action in goal and Luca Clemtsen made 1 save for Huntley.

Cary-Grove 3, CL Central 0: Sam Carthart totaled 1 goal and 1 assist for the Trojans (2-5-1, 1-2). Oscar Leon had 1 goal and Riley Conroy had 1 assist.

Harvest Christian 1, Aurora Christian 0: In a Northeastern Athletic thriller, the Lions (6-1-1) went to 3-0 in conference on Johnny Costante's unassisted game-winner in the first overtime. Backup keeper Daniel Doby collected a shutout with 9 key saves.
