Girls volleyball: Huntley remains undefeated; Burlington C., Kaneland win

Aleah Amello had 12 kills while Taylor Jakubowski added 24 assists Thursday night as Huntley's girls volleyball team defeated Crystal Lake South 25-16, 25-21 to remain undefeated on the season.

Emma Konie added 4 kills and 7 digs for the Red Raiders, who moved to 7-0 both overall and in the Fox Valley Conference. Julia Johnson also had 5 kills and 6 digs.

Leading the Gators (3-4, 3-4) were Aurora Nero (6 kills), Megan House (4 kills), Emily Slimko (14 assists) and Jamie Maule (5 digs).

Burlington Central d. Harvard: Madison Leone (4 kills, 5 aces, 3 digs) and Maddie Lenschow (3 kills) powered the Rockets to a 25-10, 25-11 Kishwaukee River win. Gabby Soto added 9 assists for BC (7-5, 4-0) while Brittany Parks (2 assists, 3 kills, 4 aces) and Katie Lomas (7 digs) also pitched in.

Kaneland d. Sycamore: Grace Franz had 6 kills and 3 blocks, Katie Jablonski 5 kills and Julianna Vassallo 9 digs to lead Kaneland (16-4) to a 25-10, 25-9 Northern Illinois Big XII East win. Also contributing for the Knights were Sheika Mushunduzi with 4 kills, 3 aces and 7 digs, Shelby Hannula with 8 assists, 3 aces and 2 blocks and Sydney Fedderly with 6 assists.

Harvest Christian d. Westminster Christian: Amanda Cassidy had 10 kills and Kaitlyn Murray added 23 assists and 4 aces to lead the Lions (9-4) to a 25-13, 25-20 Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Abby Lopez and Rylee Boldog added 4 aces each for Harvest. Sophie Kovachevich (15 digs), Grace Bickford (5 kills) and Sophia Hopkins (9 assists, 2 aces) led Westminster (5-6, 1-4).
